UK gets new timber show
Published: 19 May, 2010
A new UK exhibition for the timber industry launches in June 2011.
Timber Expo has been created by TRADA and was publicised at its In Touch with Timber conference in London today.
Darren Richards of event organiser Radar Communications said that the aim for the two-day show was to attract at least 100 exhibitors and that it would also host the 2011 In Touch with Timber conference programme.
He said that the initiative had already attracted an encouraging response from the industry and that companies exhibiting in conjunction with In Touch with Timber at the QEII Conference Centre in London had expressed postive interest.
The location of the show is yet to be announced, but the Midlands was cited as a possibility.
The event has already set up a website where prospective visitors and exhibitors can request further information (www.timber-expo.co.uk). It is also promoting discount rates for companies which sign up for the show before September this year.
The UKs last dedicated timber industry exhibition, The Timber Show, was launched at ExCeL in London in 2006. A second event was planned for the following year, but it was cancelled and the show liquidated.
